The book of Micha, at the end of Trei Asar, is the source for the Haftara of Parashat Balak. Micha prophesizes about the character of the Nation of Israel, and specifically points out the many character flaws in Israel’s population of his time, the end of the First Temple Era.
Micha describes the council that Bilam provided Balak in an attempt to undermine and destroy the Jewish people, and how it relates to the nation of Israel in his time as well.
