Once again, we turn to the Mishneh Torah of the great Rambam, one of the greatest Rabbis in Jewish history. In his Book of Jewish Law, he makes a powerful declaration:
🔹 It is forbidden for a Jew to leave the Land of Israel—except for specific reasons, such as learning Torah, finding a spouse, rescuing Jewish property, or saving a fellow Jew from captivity.
🔹 Even in these cases, once the mission is completed, the Jew must return to live in Eretz Yisrael.
🔹 The Rambam emphasizes that living permanently outside of the Land is forbidden. Even if a Jew leaves for business, it is only temporary—his true home must always be the Land of Israel.
This teaching reminds us of the eternal connection between the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael. What do you think of the Rambam’s words? Let’s discuss in the comments!
